Using his professional expertise as a Licensed, Certified Athletic Trainer, Bill Weaver has Developed a popular training program to help dancers increase their strength and explosiveness. This Plyometric and Strength Training program for Highland Dancers is a training regimen used and recommended by dancers throughout the world, including 7x World Highland Dancing Champion, David Wilton. Using only exercises tubing and body weight exercises, dancers can increase stamina and power int he hips, legs, and upper body. Exercises demonstrated in this program are explained in depth to ensure proper technique.
This program is intended for dancers who are at least 15 years of age, already in good physical shape, injury free and already have a relatively high level of fitness. If you are younger than 15 and/or not presently in good physical condition it is strongly advised that you do not use this program as it could be beyond your physical limitations and could lead to injury.
